Emanuel Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary Awards Scholarships

Turlock - At its annual volunteer appreciation event last month, the Emanuel Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary awarded $15,000 in scholarships to students and volunteers pursuing a career in health care.

 

The EMC Volunteer Auxiliary scholarship program provides scholarships to students who are pursuing careers in medical and health care related professions.  Fifteen scholarships are awarded to students who exemplify character through academic achievement and extra-curricular participation.  Successful applicants are selected through criteria that include academic credentials, letters of reference, and personal goals and statement.

 

The selection committee consisted of Volunteer Auxiliary members, Mickey DePalma, Lucy Honnette, Carol Dodge, Harriet Martinson, and Donna Bartholomew.  The committee received 64 applications and selected 15 individuals to receive a $1,000 scholarship each.

 

The recipients of the EMC Volunteer Auxiliary scholarships and their school are:

 

Pitman High School:  Ruby Dhaliwal, Melanie Koppula, Gagandeep Kular

Atwater High School:  Amanda Rice

Livingston High School:  Noor Afzal, Harpreet Chohan

Turlock High School:  Sarah Gatton

Merced College:  Kristin Diliberto,

Modesto Junior College:  Jaklin Brendaro

West Med College:  Lannette Street

University of Phoenix:  Misty Terry

CSU Stanislaus:  Michael Kramer, Simonie Silva, Lorena Galvan

UC Davis:  Antony Joshua Hayes
