Turlock - Family practice physicians Min Wu, MD, and Susan Le, MD, have met a longtime dream to practice together. Dr. Wu has joined his wife’s family practice, Valley Care Medical Group, in Turlock. Dr. Le opened the office at 777 E. Hawkeye Avenue, Suite 3, in 2007.

Dr. Wu says their office is unique. ”We see walk-ins, emergencies and people with various insurance on top of the daily scheduled patients.”

“I think our practice is different too because we take care of patients through all stages of their lives,” he says. “We see them in the hospital and the nursing home and even at home with hospice – so it is a true family practice, a real continuation of care.”     

Before joining the practice, Dr. Wu worked for Kaiser Permanente in Modesto and for the Sutter Gould Medical Foundation. At Kaiser he was named a Super Star Physician in both 2005 and 2006 for high patient satisfaction.

 

Dr. Wu has volunteered at the health screenings given by the Tzu Chi Foundation USA and hopes to see an increase in free screenings offered in Turlock. “One third of people here have no insurance,” he says. “We hope to do more with Emanuel Medical Center to offer primary care free screenings.”

 

Dr. Wu grew up in Ripon and majored in Avian Sciences focusing on poultry. His father hoped he would work in the family’s poultry business but Dr. Wu stayed at UC Davis to do some genetic research focusing on genome and earned a master’s degree in molecular genetics.  He received his medical degree in 2002 from Ross University. He and Dr. Le met at UC Davis and were married during the third year of their family practice residencies at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ – Robert Wood Johnson University, New Brunswick. Dr. Wu was honored there as the Outstanding Senior Family Practice Resident.

“It was always our plan to have our own patients and a private practice,” Dr. Wu says.  “We chose Turlock because it’s a very friendly community.”
