Patient Safety
Patient safety is a priority for Emanuel Medical Center.
In the year 2000, The Joint Commission placed increased emphasis on patient safety in accredited organizations.
Emanuel Medical Center has since developed and implemented a Patient Safety Program that has and will continue to improve and monitor our organization's safety for years to come.
Who is responsible for patient safety?
We believe that everyone has a role in making the care we deliver as safe as possible. The Patient Safety Program is organization-wide and applies to all departments and services at Emanuel Medical Center.
What are the goals of the Patient Safety Program?
The goals of this program are to increase organizational awareness of patient safety and promote a culture of safety at Emanuel Medical Center.
Speak Up
The Speak Up program, sponsored by The Joint Commission, urges patients to get involved in their care. This initiative provides simple advice to you, as the patient, which will help make your care a positive experience. After all, research shows that patients who take part in decisions about their healthcare are more likely to have better outcomes.
View the Speak Up brochure online or look for the brochure in the main lobby of the hospital.
