Our caring pediatric services staff recognizes the special needs of children. We gladly offer hospital tours for little ones prior to being admitted. Please call (209) 664-2580 to schedule a tour.
We also provide parent education as well as play activities to meet the needs of our young patients and their families.
Children's Hospital Central California's Pediatric Hospitalist Program
Starting in the fall of 2007, infants and children at Emanuel Medical Center have their very own doctors caring for them 24 hours a day while they are hospitalized thru a new affiliation with Children's Hospital Central California and the physicians of the Specialty Medical Group Central California.
The program means a board-certified pediatrician is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in Emanuel Medical Center. Called a "Pediatric Hospitalist," the new doctors based at Emanuel attend complicated births, care for infants in the nursery, and treat child-aged patients in the Intensive Care Unit and regular pediatric unit.
Children's Hospital which is located in Madera, California is famous for its pediatric care and this affiliation means families in Turlock are getting the very best hospital care available for their children without having to leave town.
Hospitalists become a patient's doctor while that person is in the hospital, then hand the patient back to their regular private practice doctor when the patient is discharged. Private practice doctors can still be a patient's primary doctor while a patient is hospitalized, but no longer are required to manage the individual child.
Annually Emanuel sees about 15,000 children in its emergency room, treats 2,000 children in its inpatient pediatric unit, cares for 250 babies in its neonatal intensive care unit and delivers 3,200 infants.
