Emanuel Medical Center Launches Social Media Campaign Focused on Men’s Health

Nov 5, 2020

mens-health-300-x-200Emanuel Medical Center has launched a social media campaign to help raise awareness about men’s health in honor of Movember.

Movember is an annual global event involving the growing of mustaches during the month of November to bring awareness and focus solely on men’s health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health. It’s the perfect time to talk about preventable health problems and early detection.

“Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men over the age of 50 and fortunately, many men have an excellent prognosis if it’s detected early,” said Craig Zippe, M.D., Urologist at Emanuel Medical Center and First California Physician Partners (FCPP). “With early detection and appropriate surgery or radiation therapy, the disease is cured in four out of five cases.”

Throughout November on its social media pages, Emanuel will be providing tips and facts from local physicians for community members to share with the men in their lives. For example, the importance of routine health screenings, staying up-to-date on all immunizations and reminding men that if something isn’t right, see a physician.

“You can keep your body strong – eat right, exercise daily, visit your doctor,” said Patrick Guerrero, D.O., Orthopedic Surgeon at Emanuel Medical Center.

Emanuel offers free online health assessments that help patients identify issues and areas to discuss with their physician such as heart health, colorectal cancer, joint pain and strength training. To find a physician, call (855) 604-4263.
