Emanuel Medical Center Receives National Philanthropy Day Award
Nov 14, 2016TURLOCK, Calif. – Emanuel Medical Center has received a 2016 National Philanthropy Day award from the Yosemite Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) for its charitable contributions to the community. The hospital, which was nominated for the award by California State University, Stanislaus, was named Outstanding Corporate or Small Business Donor in Philanthropy.
In nominating Emanuel, CSU Stanislaus noted the hospital’s “outstanding commitment to the betterment of the community and region through their financial support, community involvement, and employee volunteerism. Stanislaus State and EMC have a longstanding partnership, which includes EMC’s support of the University’s scholarship program through the One Purpose annual campaign fund drive, support of student-athletes and the athletics program, and alumni programming through sponsorship of the Vines event. Of special note is EMC’s corporate philanthropic support throughout the region, spanning well beyond the boundaries of the Turlock community.”
“On behalf of the employees, physicians and volunteers at Emanuel Medical Center, I want to thank the Association of Fundraising Professionals for this wonderful recognition of our philanthropic efforts,” said Sue Micheletti, Emanuel Medical Center’s CEO. “I also want to thank CSU Stanislaus for their generosity and support in nominating us for the award. As we prepare to celebrate our 100th year in 2017 as a cornerstone of Turlock and our surrounding communities, Emanuel is committed to investing in and otherwise supporting local charitable organizations and working with them to improve the quality of life for all people in our region.”
