Turlock, Calif. – June 9, 2022 – Emanuel Medical Center is proud to announce that Moana Afamasaga, Plant Operations Manager, has been honored by Tenet Healthcare as part of its annual recognition program. Moana has been named a Tenet Hero for her outstanding contributions in 2021.
The Tenet Heroes program celebrates those individuals who make a meaningful impact within their communities and go above and beyond their daily responsibilities. Nominated by leadership and/or fellow colleagues, Tenet Heroes exemplify the company’s core values and commitment to its mission. This year, Tenet is recognizing approximately 70 heroes companywide.
Moana was recognized as a Tenet Hero for many reasons including her consistent leadership and willingness to go the extra mile for our hospital. She created and implemented a tracking system to ensure PAPR (respirators) availability for staff and expanded negative pressure isolation capacity; even personally installing filters when her department was short-staffed. Moana also led a recent construction project in our Emanuel Cancer Center, including making sure we had a safe interim space to provide care during construction.
“Moana is a true inspiration who continues to make a positive and meaningful impact on our community each day,” said Murali Naidu, M.D., CEO of Emanuel Medical Center. “We are deeply grateful to Moana for her dedication, selfless efforts and commitment to our hospital, patients and community.”
