Celebrate Cancer Survivorship at Emanuel Cancer Center
May 17, 2016Turlock, CA— Cancer survivors, caregivers and advocates are all invited to join Emanuel Cancer Center to celebrate National Cancer Survivors’ Day with a free ice cream sundae on June 1from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Last year, the Cancer Center served nearly 500 sundaes.
“Every year, National Cancer Survivors’ Day grows because advances in prevention, detection and treatment mean more and more people than ever are surviving cancer,” said Michael Iltis, executive director of Emanuel Cancer Center. “That’s a cause for celebration every single day, but it’s nice to come together on one special day, National Cancer Survivor’s Day, to mark how far we’ve come in the fight against this disease.”
The event is open for any cancer survivor, advocate or caregiver.
“Basically, if cancer has touched your life, we hope you’ll come celebrate with us,” Iltis said. “There will be live Dixieland music, a free gift, and the ice cream sundaes will be served by the wonderful staff and physicians who work here at Emanuel Cancer Center. And sugar-free ice cream will be available!”
Please RSVP by May 27 by calling (209) 250-5355. Emanuel Cancer Center is located at 880 E. Tuolumne Road.
